Receiving Vaccination Subsidies

The Pfizer Health Insurance Society offers five types of vaccination subsidies.

The Toshinkyo vaccination process

  • On the day of vaccination, please bring your voucher and health insurance card. You can get vaccinated free of charge.
  • You cannot be vaccinated if you no longer qualify for Pfizer health insurance on the day of vaccination.
  • Please be sure to make a vaccination appointment by phone, etc. with a member medical care institution.
    When you make an appointment, please let them know that you are using the Toshinkyo Flu Vaccination Program.
  • Vouchers have an expiration date.
  • As a general rule, each person can be vaccinated once. Those under age 13 can be vaccinated twice.
  • Junior high school students or younger are not eligible for vaccination at public facilities.
  • Vaccination period
    Vaccination at medical care institution: Every October 1 to the last day of February of the following year (application accepted from September)
    Vaccination at public facility: Every November to mid-December (application accepted from September to October 31)

Check that the relevant vaccination method is displayed and enter the insurer number “06133334”

Enter the code (kigo), number (bango), user’s name, user’s name in katakana, date of birth, etc. and click “Go to confirmation screen”

The steps to applying for a vaccination cost subsidy (other than the Toshinkyo vaccination)

  • Please apply through KENPOS.
  • You do not need to mail your application form and receipt(s) to EWEL after applying through KENPOS.
    You are now required to attach an image of your receipt(s) at the time of application.
  • Both active employees and Voluntarily and Continuously Insured Persons will have the subsidy amount deposited directly into their designated account.
  • The limit of application times for each vaccine has been abolished. There is no need to make a single, bulk application for each vaccine or per family.
    Please apply after each vaccination has been completed.

Vaccination period: Every October 1 to the last day of February of the following year. (Year-round for the four vaccinations other than the flu vaccination.)
