Vaccination Subsidy

The Pfizer Health Insurance Society offers five types of vaccination subsidies.

Vaccination subsidy amount

The subsidy amount and other details regarding each vaccination are shown in the table below.
There are two ways to get a flu vaccination.
The procedures are different for each vaccination. Please check the procedures page.

  • * However, if the vaccination is eligible for public expenditure assistance, only the difference will be subsidized.

(2) KENPOS

Application timing KENPOS: Application is possible immediately after vaccination (there is no need to make a single, bulk application)
Payment For both employees (Compulsorily Insured Persons) and Voluntarily and Continuously Insured Persons, the subsidy amount will be deposited in the account designated.

How to apply for vaccinations

If getting vaccinated at a member medical care institution of the Tokyo Association of Health Insurance Societies for Promotion of Health Facilities (Toshinkyo) (flu vaccination only)

Take advantage of the Toshinkyo vaccination program that does not require payment at the reception desk.
Get vaccinated simply by bringing your voucher and insurance card on the day of the vaccination.
One thousand KENPOS points will also be given out per family.

If applying for a subsidy through KENPOS (flu, cervical cancer, S. pneumoniae bacteria, and rubella vaccinations, Shingles (Herpes zoster))

Please apply through KENPOS after vaccination at your family doctor’s office.
You do not need to send your application form and receipt(s).
The process has been simplified: Apply through KENPOS → Attach an image of your receipt(s) → Click the apply button.

Precaution

  • In municipalities where public expenditure is available, priority will be given to public expenditure claims and the difference will be paid. If public expenditure is not available, the full amount will be paid.
  • The cost of vaccination varies greatly by medical care institution. Please check the amount in advance.
