When you are injured by a natural disaster

For victims of large-scale disasters such as typhoons and earthquakes that are covered by the Disaster Relief Act, the Pfizer Health Insurance Society offers a reduction or exemption of the expenses paid at the reception desk of the medical care institution visited. If you are eligible, please contact the Pfizer Health Insurance Society.
Please refer to the Cabinet Office’s “Application of the Disaster Relief Act” regarding the application of the Disaster Relief Act.

To receive a reduction or exemption of the partial cost-sharing amount, etc.

Required documents:
  • Application Form for Exemption of Health Insurance Partial Cost-sharing Amount

[Documents to attach]

  • Certificate of damage (copy) (issued by the municipality as proof of total or partial destruction, etc.)
  • Other required documents for the Health Insurance Society to confirm the status
Deadline: As soon as possible
Eligible persons: Insured persons and dependents whose homes were completely or partially destroyed in areas covered by the Disaster Relief Act
Reduction or exemption amount: All or half of the patient’s cost-sharing amount of medical care costs
