At the hospital, I was asked to present my insurance card.

Health examinations do not count as medical consultation and treatment, so insurance claims are not possible for them. The medical care institution might ask you to present your insurance card in order to verify your identity, but please tell them you are there for a checkup. No subsidies can be provided for the practice of medicine related to an insurance claim.
